Bodyweight Pilot Program (2014)

In 2014, I designed an exercise and nutrition program which I undertook for seven weeks. My goal was to train less than 3 hours per week and eat healthier foods which increased my lean muscle mass plus gave me a detox away from milk, alcohol, sugar and fruit.

Based on my experience and the excellent results, I proceeded to test it on a group of men to determine its overall effectiveness and to compare results. Ten participants were randomly chosen and invited to take part in a combined online and face-to-face group fitness and nutrition program for a period of seven weeks.

The first week involved initial testing, planning and development of testimonials to see where each person was at.

Each week, the subjects were asked to train on four non-consecutive occasions using the exercise programs and nutrition guides that are a component of the Taurus Trainer courses. After seven weeks, the combined loss of weight (mass) was 30 kilogrammes. There was a combined reduction of 45 centimetres around the waistline. The program results also produced an average increase in all testing exercises, such as push-ups (+5 reps), squats (+6 reps), pull-ups (1 rep), Seven Stage Abdominal test (Level 1 increase), Beep running test (+1 Level 1 Shuttle).
